　　比特网(ChinaByte)10月9日消息(原野编译) 据国外媒体媒体，即便是美国最顶尖的大学，也无法提供目前计算界最为强大和最为复杂的云计算培训，而在该领域居领先地位的谷歌日前联手IBM展开此项研究。

谷歌与IBM本周一达成一项协议，双方共同出资建立一个供云计算研究的大型数据中心，学生可能通过互联网访问该中心，进行远程编程和研究。两家公司对于这项新型的计算模式均拥有极大的商业兴趣，在所谓的“云计算”模式下，计算任务逐渐走出个人计算机以或公司计算中心，而转变为依托互联网的一项服务。
网络搜索巨头谷歌是该领域的佼佼者，然而雅虎、亚马逊、电子港湾和微软等也建立了类似于搜索、社交网络、电子邮件和在线商务等形式的互联网消费服务，这些服务均运用了云计算理念。在企业用户市场，IBM等开发出了用来预测市场走势、价格走向和优化采购与制造流程的互联网服务，即云计算服务。

除谷歌与IBM之外，还有六所大学参与此项研究，它们是卡耐基·梅隆大学、麻省理工、斯坦福、加州大学伯克莱分校、马里兰州大学和华盛顿大学。

“云计算”（Cloud computing）概念目前还只限于计算业界的一种提法，尚未出现真正的产品来实现它，但“云存储”解决方案及其产品的市场争夺战已拉开了帷幕。

Cloud computing is a term used to describe applications that were developed to be rich internet applications. In the cloud computing paradigm, software that is traditionally installed on personal computers is shifted or extended to be accessible via the internet. These “cloud applications” or “cloud apps” utilize massive data centers and powerful servers that host web applications and web services. They can be accessed by anyone with a suitable internet connection and a standard web browser.

Architecture： The architecture behind cloud computing is a massive network of “cloud servers” interconnected as if in a grid running in parallel, sometimes using the technique of virtualization to maximize computing power per server.

Implementation： Cloud applications are often developed using Ajax and are designed to mimic the user experience of desktop applications.
